Seventy six trombones
Show tunes, I love them. It's a good thing because my husband and I bought tickets to both nights of the middle school production of "The Music Man". Our son isn't even in it, he is part of the stage crew though. So far he hasn't attended a single practice nor has he made any of the sets. Opening night is just nine days away. The only thing he knows for sure is that he has to wear black. So we are paying $8 a ticket on back-to-back nights to watch his friends in the show and between sets try to pick out the shadowy figure who is our son. He still gets to go to the cast and crew party, and we still get to go to the parent coffee. I'm glad I love show tunes.

I was in several productions in high school and usually helped build sets, too. My wife was usually on the tech crew. I did "1984", "Crimes of the Heart" "Nice People Dancing..."
Then in Misawa I did amateur theatre. "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Midsummer Night's Dream" among others...
Hasn't attended any rehearsals or anything? Perhaps your son is employing the "Think System" of Prof. Hill!
What a great parent you are to attend just hoping to catch a glimpse of your child in the background, and to show support for the school production and other, more prominently featured students!

Awwww....you got to love the "men in black" that was the best part according to my son.
I also watched the kids in Easter pagents (my daughter was a temple prostitute ...and I was so proud!)

I looooooove show tunes too! And The Music Man is one of my very FAVORITE shows of all time! I wish I was back up there -- I would go see it with you! Krysti and I LOVE attending school plays! We go to almost every one put on in our county! And especially the ones put on at her school!
Sounds like a fun evening with some good music. I loved that movie. I will have that tune in my head all day!!!! That's OK though, it's a good thing.

oh I found it...that things is way to little for my eyes...ouch!!! Was almost going to have to send you an email again....I love show tunes as well...did a lot of musicals when I was in high school....hope you enjoy the show!

I have never seen that one. I enjoy show tunes too... grew up on Annie, West Side Story, Oklahoma, South Pacific...
Ilove live music of all kinds. But I really got into listening to my Phantom of the Opera Cd the other day..it's been along time and "the music of the night" is beautiful as always. Hope the musical play goes very well for your son.
I'm afraid I won't be able to drop by your blog much Barbara, as for some reason my "slow dial up" pc takes forever to download your blog and then my pc freezes up on me and I have to shut it down!..so sorry..:(..I'm amazed I managed to get throuht this time..
