Kodak Birdcam 2006.

20060516-1600

This is Mariah, the heart and soul of the Kodak Birdcam program.

20060515-1034

This is Kaver, Mariah's devoted mate. He has charmed his way into the hearts of the Birdcam followers.

20060518-0931

Kaver and Mariah have three lovely hatchlings, but they really shouldn't argue in front of the kids.

You're too funny! It does look like they are engaged in some serious conversation though. The top pictures of Miariah is beautiful. I see they babies are starting to get some feathers now!

Jon - Thanks, they are beautiful birds.

Renee - One hatchling died shortly after it was born, the other one died after it was caught in a hail storm. Poor things. The remaining three are thriving.

Friday - In June they will learn to fly, which I hear is quite comical because they don't know how to land. Mariah and Kaver will be there to help them.

Lazy Daisy - They are having a disagreement about parenting practices, no doubt.

Renee - They will be banded and named on June 1.

My students watch the birdcam every year! They are so excited to see how big the babies are getting. Does anyone know what time on June 1st they will be banded? We'll be watching!
