Kill Blogspot?
From thespamweblog:
Apparently people are fed up with Blogspot "splogs". Splogs are spam blogs, set up only to get read by search engines, not human readers. Blogspot is apparently splog heaven. The idea of killing Blogspot has now been floated into the blogosphere.
I, for one, do not want Blogspot killed. The number one reason is because my blog resides on Blogspot. The number two reason is because a lot of the blogs I read reside on Blogspot.
The people who make money from good search engine rankings are probably most affected by splogs. If splogs are standing between them and profits, could this notion of killing Blogspot take hold?
Should I move my blog? Should you?

i'm not moving, i use haloscan to get by this issue. cheers!
hope it doesn't go away; I got lotsa stuff on here! If it does go away, I hope we get some notice
I bet they come up with a solution to splogs, I would think there would be an uproar from the blogging community if they killed Blogspot.
Google owns Blogger--and paid a LOT of money for it-- so I suspect they'll be able to find a solution that'll keep the normal blogs around.
Blogger should partner with Haloscan and use it as its commenting system. I use Haloscan and have pretty much zero spam problems.
I'm on moveable type and I get these. they show up in my comments but don't get posted...lots of preverted ones and now they are even complimenting my blog!
I heard once that the .blogspot domain was on par with a websites called "geocities". I dunno, I like my little place.
IceRocket stopped indexing all Blogspot blogs: http://blogmaverick.com/entry/1234000717063627/
The post I wrote is not about comment spam, it is about entire blogspot blogs that are nothing but spam. Every post is spam, plus the spammers probably put comment spam on the spam posts.
If your blog doesn't get indexed, search engines can't find it. Probably Google will still index BlogSpot, since Google owns BlogSpot. Hey, maybe that can be a plus for Google, exclusive indexing of BlogSpot blogs.
i like blogspot, so many people use it i cant imagine google just ax-ing it.
Dak-ind - Me either, but I can see more search engines refusing to imdex blogspot blogs.
